Let the efficiency of A be 1 unit

Total work = 24 x 1 = 24 units

Working alternatively,

Time for which A work in  34/3 days = 16/3days

Work done by A =  16/3 units

Time for which B work = 6 days

Work done by B = 24 -16/3  = 56/3 units

Efficiency of B = 28/9 units per day

Time taken by B to finish 7/9 times the work = 24*(7/9)/( 28/9) = 6 days
